Software and setup choices

Installed OS: CalyxOS for Google Pixel 5, with its privacy controls and app-management tools.
Root choices: this is an unrooted CalyxOS setup; Android root managers are not included.
Google apps: CalyxOS offers optional microG support for apps that use Google-service interfaces. microG is not the proprietary Google Play services package and does not make every Google-dependent app compatible. You can choose not to use microG.

Bootloader state

The bootloader is relocked after installing the signed CalyxOS build, with verified boot checked before dispatch. Do not substitute another ROM’s boot or recovery images.

Compatibility to check before ordering

Banking, payment, work-profile, streaming and game apps may reject a modified device or depend on Google services. Play Integrity, DRM quality and future app compatibility are not guaranteed by root, a custom ROM or a bootloader setting.

Updates and support

Install releases through the CalyxOS system updater. Major upgrades follow the project’s model-specific release guidance; back up first. App updates and OS updates are separate.

CalyxOS lists Google Pixel 5 under extended support, estimated through December 2026. Google’s full firmware support has ended: community OS updates cannot replace missing proprietary firmware patches.

Our custom-ROM and specialist configuration preparation target is 3–5 working days, with up to 10 working days allowed for custom preparation. Working days exclude UK weekends and public holidays.
