PrivacyPortal Ltd is a UK company (registered office in Nottingham, shop in Mansfield). We sell Google Pixel phones with GrapheneOS pre-installed and ship them to Canada. We are an independent reseller: we are not GrapheneOS and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the GrapheneOS project. Google makes the Pixel hardware, but we are not affiliated with Google, and Google does not support, warrant or endorse our GrapheneOS-modified devices.
Each phone is set up for its exact model, updated, function-tested and supplied with the bootloader re-locked, so verified boot stays on. When you browse from Canada, prices show in Canadian dollars, and at checkout you can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or USDC. Our phones are UK/EU models. For most Pixels, that's the same model Google sells in Canada. The rest of this page covers the exceptions, delivery, import charges and returns.

Canada is a smaller market for us than the UK or the US: over the last 12 months it was the sixth-largest destination for our orders. These figures cover everything we sell, not only GrapheneOS phones.

Will it work on my Canadian carrier?
Canadian carriers decide which phones they activate. What we can tell you before you buy is how each UK model's radio bands match your carrier's network, and whether it's the model Google sells in Canada. Pick your phone and carrier:
The checker needs JavaScript. The same details are in the model list below.
The checker uses Google's published band lists and model numbers, and the band lists Rogers and Freedom publish. Bell and the TELUS brands we checked don't list band numbers, so for Bell and TELUS it compares the UK model with the model Google sells in Canada. It doesn't check your phone's IMEI or your carrier's device database, and it can't tell you how GrapheneOS will behave. The GrapheneOS carrier guide says:
- GrapheneOS aims to work with every carrier Google officially supports on stock Pixels. On those carriers, calls, SMS, MMS, VoLTE and 5G generally work fine.
- Some carriers restrict VoLTE on imported Pixels by allowing only the IMEI ranges of models sold locally. An IMEI can't be changed.
- Wi-Fi calling may vary, because some carriers depend on proprietary Google apps that GrapheneOS doesn't ship.
- RCS can work in Google Messages with sandboxed Google Play, subject to conditions GrapheneOS lists (for example, it's only known to work in the Owner profile). See GrapheneOS on RCS.
- To add an eSIM, turn on Settings > Network & internet > eSIM support. GrapheneOS's own eSIM support doesn't need Google Play.
Important: Google certifies carriers per model number. For most phones we sell, the UK model is also the model Google sells in Canada. The exceptions are the Pixel 6a, 7a, 8, 8a and 10a, where Canada gets a different model, and the Pixel Fold, which Google doesn't list for Canada. For those, ask your carrier whether it supports the UK model number shown in the list below before you order.
Rogers and Bell both say a phone must support Voice over LTE (VoLTE) to work on their networks, and Rogers warns that VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling might not work on phones bought elsewhere, even with the right bands.
UK model vs Canadian model: what's different
Every phone we sell has a nano-SIM slot plus eSIM, except the Pixel Tablet, which is Wi-Fi only. The main question is whether Google sells the same model in Canada, and if not, which radio bands the UK model lacks. Sources: Google model-number table, Google tech specs, the band lists from Rogers and Freedom Mobile, and the GrapheneOS device-lifetime table.
GrapheneOS recommends the Pixel 8 and later. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro reach the end of Google's minimum support in October 2026.
How we grade: Rogers and Freedom publish their bands, so "good match" means the phone has every band they list and "partial" means it lacks some. For Bell and TELUS, "good match" means it's the model Google sells in Canada or has all of that model's 4G LTE bands, and "partial" means it lacks 4G LTE bands the Canadian model has, or, for the Pixel Fold, that Google sells no Canadian model to compare it with.

What the band gaps mean:
- Rogers lists 4G LTE on Bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 25 and 66, and 5G on n71 (600 MHz), n66, n41 (2500 MHz) and n78 (3500 MHz). The UK Pixel 7a, 8a, 9a and 10a lack n71, and the UK Pixel 6a lacks n41. The 8a, 9a and 10a have Band 2 but not Band 25.
- Freedom lists 4G LTE on Bands 4, 7, 13, 66 and 71, and 5G on n66, n71 and n77/n78. It suggests Band 4, Band 13 (its Extended Range LTE) and Band 66 for the best experience. The UK Pixel 7a, 8a, 9a and 10a lack Band 13 and Band 71/n71.
- The 600 and 700 MHz low bands matter most for coverage. TELUS, which won 600 MHz licences in 2019, says 600 MHz can "travel great distances in rural areas" and reach inside buildings (TELUS, April 2019). Bell didn't win any 600 MHz licences (ISED auction results), so a missing Band 71 matters less on Bell.
Bell says its 5G+ network uses 3500 MHz and 3800 MHz spectrum. Every UK model supports 5G n78 and n77, which cover those, in hardware. Whether a carrier enables 5G on an imported phone is up to that carrier. To find a phone's model on GrapheneOS, go to Settings > About phone > Model > Hardware SKU.
Delivery to Canada
We process orders Monday to Friday at our Nottingham facility. Every order ships from Nottingham, UK. Standard pre-built devices take 1–3 working days to prepare (up to 5). Customized builds take 3–5 (up to 10). Orders placed after 3pm UK time start the next working day. At checkout you choose between two options:

Import charges as of September 24, 2026
Both options ship Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU), which is what "Duties Paid by Recipient" means: our prices don't include Canadian duty, sales tax or carrier fees, and you pay any that apply before the parcel is released to you.
- Duty rate: Canada's duty rate for smartphones (tariff item 8517.13.00) is Free. Tablets are normally classified under 8471.30.00, which is also Free. Source: CBSA Customs Tariff 2026. The CBSA makes the final classification.
Sales tax: Mail and courier items from the UK are only exempt up to CAN$20, so a phone won't be. You pay GST, HST or provincial sales tax on the phone's value, depending on your province or territory (CBSA Memorandum D2-3-6, April 8, 2026):
- Alberta, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon: 5% GST
- British Columbia and Manitoba: 5% GST plus 7% PST
- Saskatchewan: 5% GST plus 6% PST
- Quebec: 5% GST plus 9.975% QST
- Ontario: 13% HST
- Nova Scotia: 14% HST
- New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island: 15% HST
For example, on a phone valued at CAN$1,000 delivered to Ontario, 13% HST comes to CAN$130. Who collects it, and what else to know:
- Standard International (Canada Post): Canada Post collects the tax for the CBSA and adds a handling fee of CAN$9.95 per taxable item. You can pay online or on delivery (Canada Post).
- Express International (UPS): UPS collects the tax and may add its own brokerage or other fees. With DDU, UPS says the receiver pays any duties, taxes and fees, and it may hold the parcel until they're paid.
- Canada's surtax on US goods: The 2026 surtax (counter tariffs) applies only to goods that originate in the United States, wherever they're shipped from (CBSA Customs Notice 26-23). Our Pixels are made in Vietnam or China, and that's the country of origin on our customs forms, so this surtax doesn't apply to them.

Warranty and returns
Google's warranty won't cover your phone. Google's US and Canada limited warranty applies only to products bought in the US or Canada from Google or its authorized resellers, and it doesn't cover damage caused by alterations. Its UK warranty is valid only in the UK, EEA and Switzerland, for purchases from Google or its authorized resellers, and we are not one. Our policies say the manufacturer warranty may be void or limited by our modification.
If you need Google's help, the phone can easily be flashed back to Google's stock software with the bootloader re-locked. You can then submit a repair request (RMA) to Google; whether Google accepts it is up to Google.

- Faulty, misdescribed or wrong item: Report it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, and we pay return shipping. For a fault reported within 6 months, we offer one repair or replacement at no cost. If that isn't possible or doesn't fix it, you're entitled to a refund. After 6 months you may still have rights for up to 6 years under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, but you'll need to show the fault was there at delivery. Email faulty@privacyportal.co.uk.
- Change of mind: Phones from our catalogue, including every GrapheneOS Pixel in this guide, are standard devices under our Refund Policy (section 4), so you can cancel within 30 days of delivery, with 14 more days to send them back. Customized builds can't be cancelled once work has started. You pay return postage. Use a tracked, insured service; the cost depends on the service and the declared value.
- Carrier won't accept the phone: if the phone is as described, you can still return it under the 30-day change-of-mind right above (you pay return postage). Please run the carrier check first.
- RMA first: Email faulty@privacyportal.co.uk (faults) or support@privacyportal.co.uk (other returns) for an RMA number, the return address and a form. Mark the parcel "Returned Goods."
- Refunds: For change-of-mind returns we don't refund import taxes, Canada Post's handling fee or carrier fees. Once the phone is back with us and refunded, you may be able to claim the GST, HST or PST back from the CBSA, which can't refund brokerage, shipping or handling fees (CBSA refunds). If the phone is faulty or not as described, this doesn't limit your legal rights. Refunds go back to your original payment method, in the currency you paid in.
Our Refund Policy is governed by English law. The mandatory consumer protections of your own province or territory may also apply.
FAQ
Can I run my carrier's compatibility check?
Yes, once the phone arrives. Carrier checkers need the phone's IMEI, which you'll find in Settings > About phone. See Rogers (which also links a VoLTE device search), Bell, Koodo, Public Mobile and Freedom Mobile. Regional carriers such as Vidéotron, SaskTel and Eastlink aren't in our checker, so ask them about your phone's model number. Before you buy, use the checker and model list above.
Do I need Google Play?
Calls and texts don't need Google Play, and neither does GrapheneOS's own eSIM support. If your carrier activates eSIM only through its own app, ask for an eSIM QR code or activation code, or use a physical nano-SIM. RCS needs sandboxed Google Play. GrapheneOS notes that a few carriers use a provisioning method that may need it for VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling; none of the carriers it names are Canadian.
Can I verify the install?
Yes. The GrapheneOS project doesn't endorse any seller and recommends installing it yourself. If you buy pre-installed, its FAQ on pre-installed devices says to check the verified boot key hash, then factory reset from recovery before use, then set up the Auditor app. We'd encourage you to do all three.
