PrivacyPortal Ltd is a UK company (registered office in Nottingham, shop in Mansfield). We sell Google Pixel phones with GrapheneOS pre-installed and ship them from the UK to customers in the EU. We are an independent reseller: we are not GrapheneOS and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the GrapheneOS project. Google makes the Pixel hardware, but we are not affiliated with Google, and Google does not support, warrant or endorse our GrapheneOS-modified devices.

Each phone is set up for its exact model, updated, function-tested and supplied with the bootloader re-locked, so verified boot stays on. When you browse from the EU, prices show in euros, or in your own currency where you don't use the euro (for example Swedish kronor or Danish kroner), and at checkout you can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or USDC. Our phones are UK/EU models, and for most models Google sells the same model number in the EU. Because we ship from outside the EU, you pay the import VAT. The rest of this page explains both.

How many of our orders go to the EU

After the UK and the US, EU countries are where most of our orders go, and Germany is our third-biggest destination country. These figures cover everything we sell, not only GrapheneOS phones.

Will it work on my network?

EU networks use the same main 4G and 5G bands, because the EU harmonises them. What we can tell you before you buy is how each model's radio bands match those, and whether Google sells that model in your country. Pick your phone and your country:

The checker needs JavaScript. The same details are in the model list below.

The checker uses Google's published band lists and model-number table for each model. It doesn't check your phone's IMEI or your network's systems, and it can't tell you how GrapheneOS will behave. The GrapheneOS carrier guide says:

  • GrapheneOS aims to work with every carrier Google officially supports on stock Pixels. On those networks, calls, SMS, MMS, VoLTE and 5G generally work fine.
  • Some carriers restrict VoLTE on imported Pixels by allowing only the IMEI ranges of models sold locally. An IMEI can't be changed.
  • Wi-Fi calling may vary, because some carriers depend on proprietary Google apps that GrapheneOS doesn't ship.
  • RCS can work in Google Messages with sandboxed Google Play, subject to conditions GrapheneOS lists (for example, it's only known to work in the Owner profile). See GrapheneOS on RCS.
  • To add an eSIM, turn on Settings > Network & internet > eSIM support. GrapheneOS's own eSIM support doesn't need Google Play.

Good to know: unlike in the US, the models we sell are the models Google sells across most of the EU. From the Pixel 8 onwards, Google lists our model numbers for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden, except the two Pro Fold models, which Google didn't release in Italy or Spain. Google released older models in fewer countries, so check the list for your phone below.

Model by model: bands and where Google released it

Every phone we sell has a nano-SIM slot plus eSIM, except the Pixel Tablet, which is Wi-Fi only. Every phone model supports all the main EU 4G bands: 800 MHz (Band 20), 900 MHz (Band 8), 1800 MHz (Band 3), 2100 MHz (Band 1) and 2600 MHz (Band 7), plus 700 MHz (Band 28), 1500 MHz (Band 32) and 2600 MHz TDD (Band 38). GrapheneOS recommends the Pixel 8 and later. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro reach the end of Google's minimum support in October 2026.

What the differences mean:

  • 5G on 3.4–3.8 GHz (n78) is the EU's main 5G band, and every phone model supports it. The EU says the 700 MHz and 3.6 GHz bands have been widely assigned across member states.
  • 5G on 700 MHz (n28) is the EU's wide-coverage 5G band (Decision (EU) 2017/899). Every model supports it except the Pixel 8a, which still has 4G on 700 MHz. In France, ANFR figures for 1 July 2026 show Free using 700 MHz at almost all of its 5G sites and Orange at about three in four, while SFR and Bouygues Telecom use 2100 MHz and 3.5 GHz.
  • n75 (1500 MHz) is a download-only 5G band, so lacking it (Pixel 6, 6 Pro and 6a) can mean lower 5G speeds where a network uses it, not lost coverage. The Pixel 6a also lacks 5G n38 (2600 MHz TDD).
  • 5G mmWave (26 GHz, n258) is only on the three Fold models. The EU's 2024 5G report says the 26 GHz band had been authorised in only 12 member states.

Every model supports 5G on 2100 MHz (n1), which SFR and Bouygues Telecom use in France, and 5G on 800, 900, 1800 and 2600 MHz (n20, n8, n3, n7). Whether your network enables a band on a particular phone is up to the network. To find a phone's model on GrapheneOS, go to Settings > About phone > Model > Hardware SKU.

Delivery to the EU

We process orders Monday to Friday at our Nottingham facility, and every order ships from Nottingham, UK. Standard pre-built devices take 1–3 working days to prepare (up to 5). Customised builds take 3–5 (up to 10). Orders placed after 3pm UK time start the next working day. At checkout you choose between two options, and both are labelled "Duties Paid by Recipient":

  • Standard International (3–7 days): free. Sent with Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed. Typically 3–7 working days in transit after dispatch, plus preparation time, and signed for on delivery.
  • Express International (1–4 days): £45. Sent with UPS International Priority. Typically 1–4 working days in transit, signed for. The price shows in your currency at checkout.

The carriers give these times as typical, not guaranteed, and customs clearance can add time. When your order ships, you'll get an email with the tracking number, and you can follow it on our order tracking page. See our Shipping Policy.

Import charges as of 24 September 2026

Every EU order ships Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU): our prices don't include EU import VAT, duty or carrier fees, and you pay them when the parcel arrives. The delivering carrier or postal service normally asks you to pay before it hands the parcel over.

  • Customs duty: 0%. The EU's third-country duty for smartphones (TARIC 8517 13 00) is 0%, and so is the rate for tablets (8471 30 00). EU customs makes the final classification.
  • Import VAT: charged at your country's standard rate, generally on the value of the order including the shipping you paid. The rates for the ten EU countries in our network checker are below; for other countries, see the EU's VAT rates table.
  • No €150 exemption for phones: every phone we sell costs more than €150, so import VAT is charged at the border. The EU's IOSS scheme (VAT at checkout) only covers parcels worth up to €150.
  • Carrier fees: the carrier or postal service that delivers the parcel may add its own clearance or handling fee. It sets that fee, not us, and you pay it.
  • Parcels worth €150 or less (for example accessories): since 1 July 2026 the EU charges a temporary flat customs duty of €3 per item type, until 1 July 2028 (Council Regulation (EU) 2026/382). VAT also applies.

For example, on a €600 order with free Standard delivery to Germany, import VAT at 19% would be about €114, plus any carrier fee. We fill in customs forms accurately, and we can't mark a parcel as a gift or declare a lower value.

Warranty and returns

Google's warranty won't cover your phone. Google's limited warranty for the UK, EEA and Switzerland lasts two years, but only for phones bought from Google or its authorised resellers, and we are not one. It also excludes damage caused by alterations. Our policies say the manufacturer warranty may be void or limited by our modification.

If you need Google's help, the phone can easily be flashed back to Google's stock software with the bootloader re-locked. You can then submit a repair request (RMA) to Google; whether Google accepts it is up to Google.

Our terms (see our Refund Policy):

  • Faulty, misdescribed or wrong item: Report it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, and we pay return shipping. For a fault reported within 6 months, we offer one repair or replacement at no cost. If that isn't possible or doesn't fix it, you're entitled to a refund. After that you still have legal rights: under EU law a seller is responsible for faults present at delivery that show up within two years (Directive (EU) 2019/771), and our Refund Policy says EU customers keep similar protections under that directive and the EU Consumer Rights Directive. Email faulty@privacyportal.co.uk.
  • Change of mind: Phones from our catalogue, including every GrapheneOS Pixel in this guide, are standard devices under our Refund Policy (section 4), so you can cancel within 30 days of delivery (the legal minimum is 14 days), with 14 more days to send them back. Customised builds can't be cancelled once work has started; EU law has the same exception for goods made to the buyer's specifications. You pay return postage (our Refund Policy estimates £15–£60 from outside the UK). Use a tracked, insured service.
  • Network won't accept the phone: if the phone is as described, you can still return it under the 30-day change-of-mind right above (you pay return postage). Please use the network check first.
  • RMA first: Email faulty@privacyportal.co.uk (faults) or support@privacyportal.co.uk (other returns) for an RMA number, the return address and a form. Mark the parcel "Returned Goods" for customs.
  • Refunds: For change-of-mind returns we don't refund import VAT or carrier fees. You may be able to reclaim import VAT from your customs authority, and we'll give you return documents to support that. If the phone is faulty or not as described, this doesn't limit your legal rights. Refunds go back to your original payment method, in the currency you paid in.

Our Refund Policy is governed by English law. If you live in the EU, the mandatory consumer protections of your country may also apply, and where they give you stronger rights, those rights apply.

FAQ

Is this the same model Google sells in my country?

For most models, yes. Google's model-number table lists the model numbers we sell for most EU countries, from the Pixel 8 onwards for all ten EU countries in our network checker, except the 9 Pro Fold and 10 Pro Fold, which Google didn't release in Italy or Spain. Each model in the list above shows the EU countries Google lists it for. To see your phone's model on GrapheneOS, go to Settings > About phone > Model > Hardware SKU.

Will VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling and 5G work?

GrapheneOS says 5G, calls, SMS, MMS and VoLTE generally work fine with the carriers Google officially supports on stock Pixels, and that Wi-Fi calling may vary. Some carriers only enable VoLTE for Pixel models sold in their country. We can't check that for you before you buy, so if Google doesn't list your model for your country, ask your network.

Do I need Google Play?

Calls and texts don't need Google Play, and neither does GrapheneOS's own eSIM support. If your network activates eSIM through its own app, we haven't confirmed that app works without sandboxed Google Play, so ask for an eSIM QR code or activation code, or use a physical nano-SIM. RCS needs sandboxed Google Play. GrapheneOS notes that a few carriers use a provisioning method that may need it for VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling.

Can I verify the install?

Yes. The GrapheneOS project doesn't endorse any seller and recommends installing it yourself. If you buy pre-installed, its FAQ on pre-installed devices says to check the verified boot key hash, then factory reset from recovery before use, then set up the Auditor app. We'd encourage you to do all three.
